In a previous blog post that you can read here<\/a><\/u>, Vanessa Montanari had presented Patients Committee for Clinical Research (PCCR) in French: \u00ab\u00a0Comit\u00e9 de Patients pour la Recherche Clinique (CPRC)\u00a0\u00bb. On June 22nd, I went to one of the plenary sessions of the League against Cancer, in order to know more about the CGO with which the PCCR is partner.<\/p>\n

We will tell you in this article what we have learned from this entity which is not always known by clinical research<\/strong> associate.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. Oncology Cooperator group: Who are they?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The CGO for Cooperator Groups in Oncology<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0gathers academic research groups. They are independent, nonprofit, and are specialized in oncology (see list of members below). Their objective is to improve the survival and quality of life for patients with cancer.<\/p>\n

The founding members of this association are:
\n– ARCAGY-GINECO<\/a> =Research Association on cancers including gynecological \u2013 National Investigators Group for the Study of Ovarian and Breast Cancer. In French (A<\/strong>ssociation de\u00a0R<\/strong>echerche sur les\u00a0CA<\/strong>ncers dont\u00a0GY<\/strong>n\u00e9cologiques –\u00a0G<\/strong>roupe d\u2019I<\/strong>nvestigateurs\u00a0N<\/strong>ationaux pour l\u2019\u00c9<\/strong>tude des\u00a0C<\/strong>ancers\u00a0O<\/strong>variens et du sein)
\n– FFCD<\/a> =French Federation of Digestive Oncology. In French (F<\/strong>\u00e9d\u00e9ration F<\/strong>rancophone de C<\/strong>anc\u00e9rologie D<\/strong>igestive)
\n– GERCOR<\/a> = Multidisciplinary Cooperator Group in Oncology. In French (Groupe Coop\u00e9rateur Multidisciplinaire en Oncologie)
\n– GORTEC<\/a> =Radiotherapy Oncology Group of Head And Neck. In French (G<\/strong>roupe O<\/strong>ncologie Radioth\u00e9rapie de la T<\/strong>\u00eate E<\/strong>t du C<\/strong>ou)
\n– IFCT<\/a> = Francophone Intergroup of Thoracic Oncology. In French (I<\/strong>ntergroupe F<\/strong>rancophone de C<\/strong>anc\u00e9rologie T<\/strong>horacique)
\n– MFI<\/a> = Francophone Intergroup of Myeloma. In French (I<\/strong>ntergroupe F<\/strong>rancophone du M<\/strong>y\u00e9lome)
\n– LYSA<\/a> = LY<\/strong>mphoma S<\/strong>tudy A<\/strong>ssociation
\n– LYSARC<\/a> = LY<\/strong>mphoma A<\/strong>cademic R<\/strong>esearch O<\/strong>rganisation<\/p>\n

Thanks to their expertise areas extending from solid tumors to liquid tumors, CGO became one of the major player in clinical research<\/strong>. Especially since their role is enhanced by:<\/p>\n
