Good morning, everyone. This is Vanessa Montanari from the clinical research blog for Pharmaspecific. Today we’re going to look at a new topic. The question we’re going to ask is, in France, can we ask for the diplomas of the investigators?

Then the answer is yes and no. In fact, often, when we work with foreign laboratories, they ask for investigators’ diplomas.
Now, in France, it is not very usual to ask a doctor for his diploma. It’s something unusual and therefore it may seem a little embarrassing. So in general, what is done is that the investigator is asked for his CV on which he notes his number because RPPS to prove to foreign laboratories that the doctor is indeed a doctor who has the right to practice. All you have to do is go to the site of the CNOM, the national council of the order of doctors, to see if this doctor is authorised to practise and you will also be able to see what his diplomas are: if he is a haematologist, he is a sports doctor. What diplomas he has obtained in medicine. Today, this is what is done in France. So that’s what I recommend you do, and you can print this document and check every two years that he is still authorized to practice medicine in our country.
